Xavi: I Respect the President’s Decision to Dismiss Me, I Have No Regrets

Spanish coach Xavi has opened up about his feelings after being dismissed as Barcelona’s coach before the final match of the 2023/24 season.

Barcelona’s management decided to dismiss Xavi at the end of this season, but this has not stopped the coach from respecting the decision.

“I’m fine. Of course, these were difficult days, not easy ones. But I’m here with a clear mind and I want to say that I’m proud of my two and a half years as a coach. It wasn’t easy,” Xavi initially said.

“I respect the president’s decision to dismiss me; he’s the one who decides. I will always be a Barcelona fan and will support the club.”

“I have had to make very important decisions. I have no regrets. I have been true and honest with the players, the management, and the sporting directors. I believe we have worked with great honor and love for this club,” concluded the Spanish coach.

Xavi is expected to be replaced by Hansi Flick as Barcelona’s new coach after the match against Sevilla.

The decision to dismiss the Spaniard came after his recent controversial comments where Xavi claimed that Barça could not compete for major titles next season due to financial problems.
