Galatasaray is the champion of Turkey.
“Cim Bom” achieved this success after a 3-1 away victory against Konyaspor in the final match of the championship.
With this win, Galatasaray finished the intense title race with 102 points in first place.
Fenerbahçe was a strong competitor until the end, but two draws in the last five rounds left them behind and were decisive for the title.
Fenerbahçe also won their final match of the season, but finished three points behind Galatasaray.
Mauro Icardi’s goals in the 29th and 51st minutes, as well as Berkan Kutlu’s goal two minutes later, secured Galatasaray’s 24th title in the Turkish top flight.
Fenerbahçe won 6-0 at home against Istanbulspor, but it wasn’t enough to claim the title.
Icardi also won the “Golden Boot” in the Turkish Super League.
This season, he scored no fewer than 25 goals.
Edin Džeko of Fenerbahçe scored 21 goals, while Albanian striker Rey Manaj finished the season with 18 goals.
