United Shareholder Lists Five Overpaid and Underperforming Players

Manchester United shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe has named five players at the club who are overpaid and “not good enough.”

Since completing the deal to acquire a minority stake in United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has faced what is arguably the club’s darkest period.

At the moment, United sits 14th in the table, marking the worst season in the club’s history.

Ratcliffe has outlined the club’s issues that have led to this situation, also mentioning five players who have “contributed” to the problem.

“We inherited Antony, Casemiro, Onana, Højlund, and Sancho—who, by the way, we are paying €17 million in wages while he is on loan at Chelsea,” he told BBC Sport.

“Some are not good enough, some are overpaid, and we need time to build a strong and competitive squad,” he added.

He praised Bruno Fernandes, saying that he is “exceptional.”
