Raphinha has named the only club that could prevent Barcelona from winning the Champions League this season – but the Brazilian’s prediction for the final is already out of the question.
The former Leeds United player is a key figure for Barcelona and has been in outstanding form under Hansi Flick, scoring 24 goals and providing 18 assists across all competitions. In the Champions League, Raphinha netted eight goals and registered four assists as Blaugrana finished second overall, winning six matches, drawing one, and losing one.
Only Liverpool boasted a better record than Barcelona, which will face Benfica in the Round of 16—a rematch of a thrilling nine-goal encounter in January, where Raphinha scored the decisive goal.
Back in January, Raphinha shared his thoughts on this season’s Champions League and revealed who he believed Barça would face in the final at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
“My prediction for the Champions League final? Barcelona vs. Manchester City,” Raphinha stated in January.
However, just a month later, City was eliminated from the competition in the play-offs, suffering a 6-3 aggregate defeat to the defending champions and 15-time European winners, Real Madrid.
