Inter manager Simone Inzaghi has said that he will find it difficult to sleep on the night before the Champions League final in Munich on May 31.
This is because Inter risk ending the season without a single trophy, despite competing for the treble: Serie A, UEFA Champions League, and Coppa Italia.
“This night will not be like any other. The Champions League final is the match that every coach dreams of playing, but not everyone gets the chance,” Inzaghi said. “I couldn’t make it as a player, but thanks to our team we’ve reached it twice in three seasons.”
Inter fought until the end in Serie A but finished second, while they were eliminated in the Coppa Italia semifinals by local rivals Milan. Therefore, the Champions League remains their only chance to win a trophy this season.
Inzaghi added that Lautaro Martinez will be available for the final, while Benjamin Pavard and Piotr Zielinski remain doubts due to injuries.
Amid rumors of an offer from Saudi Arabia, Inzaghi stated that he will only discuss his future after the Champions League final.
