French football star Kylian Mbappé is certainly not going to remember this week fondly — and not just because of the Champions League quarter-final elimination by Real Madrid.
Real Madrid was knocked out of the Champions League on Wednesday by Arsenal, who won 2-1 in Madrid and advanced to the semi-finals with an aggregate score of 5-1. But Mbappé received more bad news related to his off-field business.
Mbappé — or more precisely, his investment fund Coalition Capital — bought the club Caen last year for €15 million. However, despite the purchase, the club will be playing in France’s third division next season.
