Chaos at Real Madrid: Five stars risk suspension against Manchester City

Real Madrid spent most of their clash against Atletico Madrid pressing high up the pitch, mainly due to Diego Simeone’s defensive setup.

This is rarely seen from Carlo Ancelotti, especially in big matches, as this approach carries risks—one small mistake could force a teammate to commit a tactical foul, leading to potential bookings.

This very aspect will be a major concern for the Italian coach ahead of the first leg against Manchester City in the Champions League.

According to Diario AS, four of Madrid’s midfielders risk suspension for the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu if they receive a yellow card, despite Tchouameni being expected to play in defense.

Alongside Tchouameni, Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Luka Modric, and Endrick are also at risk of suspension.

At least two of them are likely to start on Tuesday, with Bellingham being a guaranteed starter.

Fede Valverde is expected to shift to the right wing to cover for Lucas Vazquez’s absence, meaning Dani Ceballos, Modric, and Camavinga will compete for two midfield spots.

All five players have accumulated two yellow cards in eight group-stage matches.

It is worth noting that Vinicius Junior and Vazquez have both missed games due to suspension after receiving three yellow cards.
