A surprising report has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Al Nassr for a rival club as part of a sensational swap deal.
The Portuguese star began the Saudi Arabian trend following his successful move from Manchester United to Al Nassr in 2022.
Since leaving European football for the Middle East, several other stars have followed suit, including Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and Roberto Firmino, among others.
Not to mention Neymar, who signed with Al Hilal in a deal worth up to 100 million euros.
However, his time at the club has been marred by injuries, limiting him to just seven appearances.
It appears that Al Hilal is determined to cut their losses, with Arab media reporting that the club wants to offload him in January.
According to Action Ma3 Waleed, Al Hilal is open to parting ways with the superstar when the transfer window reopens.
He has a contract until 2025, but the Saudi team hopes to reach an agreement ahead of a potential seismic exit.
Al Hilal is “dreaming” of replacing the Brazilian with Ronaldo, who has enjoyed an incredibly productive spell in Saudi Arabia since his transfer.
The 39-year-old, like Neymar, has a contract until 2025, meaning Al Hilal could make a high-profile free transfer once the Portuguese star’s existing contract expires.
Speaking over the summer, he hinted at the conclusion of his iconic career in Saudi Arabia.
“I don’t know if I’ll finish soon or in two or three years. But, maybe, it will be at Al Nassr. It’s the team where I’m happy, where I feel good, where I feel comfortable, both in the country and in the league,” he said. “That’s why, most likely, I could end my career at Al Nassr. I’m very happy to play in the Arab League and want to continue.”
