Bayer Leverkusen triumphed tonight in the derby against Bayern Munich, thus taking a big step towards the title of champion in Germany.
The team led by Xabi Alonso convincingly won the match against the reigning German champions, with a score of 3-0, writes Gazeta Express.
The Spanish coach praised his team after the match, also speaking about the title of champion.
“I have a great team. It’s full of energy and enthusiasm, that’s the key. There’s no other secret to our success. The players believe and are doing well,” he said initially.
“The title? Let’s wait, we’ll talk about it in May. We need to stay grounded. We wanted to be contenders and we succeeded brilliantly in our plan,” Alonso declared.
Bayer Leverkusen leads the table with 55 points, five more than Bayern Munich, who remain in second place.
It is worth noting that Leverkusen has not suffered any losses this season in any competition they have participated in, with a fantastic record of 27 wins and four draws in 31 matches.
