Inter Miami’s last victory was on May 3, while a negative streak of 2 draws and 2 losses had dropped the team to sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
This was surprising for a team coming off 22 wins, 4 draws, and 8 losses in the previous MLS season, a record for the Florida club.
With these contributions, Lionel Messi reached his 863rd career goal and now has 382 career assists, making history with Inter Miami.
In fact, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner became the first player in history with 50 goal contributions in a regular season.
He has scored 29 goals and provided 21 assists in the league—something no other Inter Miami player has ever done.
