Tottenham Hotspur have been crowned Europa League champions after defeating Manchester United 1-0 in the final held on Wednesday evening at the “Estadio San Mames” in Bilbao.
The only goal of the match was scored in the 42nd minute by forward Johnson, following a precise assist from Sarr.
Despite the “Red Devils’” efforts to restore parity, their finishing lacked precision, while Tottenham successfully managed their lead until the final whistle.
This marks the third time Tottenham have won this competition, having previously triumphed twice when the tournament was known as the UEFA Cup, in 1972 and 1984.
The victory in this final not only secures Tottenham the prestigious trophy but also guarantees them a place in the group stage of next season’s Champions League.
